Police Operations Wing conducted at least 173 search operations during this month at different places to maintain law and order in the city whereas 17,754 persons, 4,198 houses, 1,400 tenants, 19 hotels, 138 hostels, two bus stands, 21 factories and 93 shops were checked. Police took action against 150 accused persons, registering three FIRs for narcotics, two for illegal weapons, 62 over tenant act and 83 over other crimes. DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan has said that search and sweep operations played a key role to maintain law and order in the city and to foil nefarious designs of the enemies of the country. There is a dire need to remain highly alert in the wake of the present border situation. He further said that Lahore police conducted search and sweep operations regularly in different areas of the city in consultation and coordination with security agencies and related departments.
