A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants while he was sleeping in a house in Tandlianwala area.
Police shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem.
The police said 55-year-old Yasin, son of Khushi Muhammad, was sleeping in his house in Chak No 428GB area of Tandlianwala when three unidentified persons entered it and shot him in the head. He was severely injured and died on the spot.
The neighbours reported to police when Yasin did not wake up in the morning.
Police reached the spot, took the body into custody and shifted it to the hospital for postmortem.
In an earlier incident, a man shot dead his two nieces over a marriage dispute in Faisalabad in July. Tandlianwala city police took both the bodies into their custody, shifted them to a hospital for postmortem and started search for the escaped murderer.
The accused Allah Rakha, a resident of 240 Mor, Jaranwala, reportedly wanted to marry off his sons to his brother Allah Ditta’s daughters Sidra and Rani Bibi.
Allah Ditta did not agree with his brother’s decision. Due to resentment, Allah Rakha came to his brother’s house and opened fire on his daughters.
As a result, the girls died on the spot. In January, a man accused in the murder case of a policeman’s son was shot dead by rivals near the Central Police Office (CPO) gate.
Police sources revealed that the deceased, Dr Syed Shahzad Hussain, was accused of two separate murders.
Hussain had come to notify his presence in the courts of the Additional District and Sessions Judges Nadeem Anwar and Muhammad Elias for separate murder cases.
The deceased was returning home from his counsel’s chamber when armed assailants opened fire on him at the District Kachehri Gate. The doctor received five bullet wounds and collapsed on the spot where he lay unattended in a critical condition for at least 20 minutes.
