Woman injured in unprovoked Indian firing along LoC
In yet another incident of unprovoked aggression, Indian border security forces resorted to targeting civilian population on the Pakistani side of Line of Control (LoC), injuring a woman on Saturday, military said.
“Pakistani troops responded effectively to Indian firing” in Khuiratta Sector, said a statement issued by military’s media wing, the ISPR.
The incident takes place hours after a senior Indian diplomat was summoned by Islamabad to register strong protest over ceasefire violation by Indian troops on August 14 resulting in serious injuries to a civilian.
Indian occupation forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) have been continuously targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars and automatic weapons.
This year, India has committed over 1,980 ceasefire violations to date, resulting in the martyrdom of 16 and serious injuries to at least 161 innocent civilians.
Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces, it was underscored that such senseless acts are in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, and are also against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.
