Students are Pakistan’s most valuable assets and will make the country progress and reach new heights, said Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday, at an Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Programme (EUSP) cheque distribution ceremony at the Governor House. Disbursing scholarship cheques among 145 Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) students, Ismail remarked that students had the responsibility to employ their abilities for Pakistan’s betterment of Pakistan, with utmost dedication. Speaking with reference to EUSP, he said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan has initiated the programme despite financial constraints and students must realise the trust shown in them.” He further said the Ehsaas Programme was the largest social sector initiative ever taken in the country. The governor said that 50,000 students were to be provided scholarships, covering complete tuition fees for four and five-year degree programmes, adding that they would also receive Rs4,000 every month for living expenses.
