Hakla-DI Khan motorway by mid-2021
Work on the Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway is expected to be completed by the middle of the next year.
This was stated by the National Highway Authority (NHA) Captain (retired) Sikander Qayyum while addressing an online khulli kacheri via the authority’s Facebook page on Monday. Qayyum said that the authority’s prime duty is to build, operate and maintain interprovincial motorways and national highways while also having links to the ports.
Responding to a question, he said that the Hakla-DI Khan motorway remains under construction and hopefully it will be complete by the middle of the next year.
Speaking about the Indus Highway, he said that it is an important link between Karachi and Peshawar and its rehabilitation stands amongst their priorities. He said, paperwork of Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway is being completed and it will be advertised at the international level.
Moreover, tenders for the Zhob-Kuchlak highway will open next month. He clarified that no illegal toll plazas exist along with the entire network of NHA. He listened to various complaints of the people about the authority.
