Nine of a family slaughtered in revenge attack
At least nine people were killed, including four women and as many children, when they were shot by a group trying to exact revenge on its rivals in the suburbs of Rawalpindi on Friday night.
The Chauntra police said that two groups had developed enmity towards the other after a member of one group had been murdered.
To exact revenge, some members of one group barged into the house of the other group.
Images shared from the scene of the crime showed that nine people, including four women, three girls and a boy, were made to stand against a wall and then sprayed them with bullets in what appeared to be an execution.

The youngest victim was just seven-years of age, Other victims included 13 and 16-year-old girls and a nine-year-old boy. Among the women killed were Nisar Bibi, Sidra Bibi, Azra Bibi and Abida. Moreover, Noor Fatima, Usman and Ibrahim were injured in the attack.
Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younis said that when they received reports that a gang had attacked another gang, they dispatched a squad of elite commandos to spot.
There, they found that the entire village was under siege but on seeing the police arrive, the gang dispersed.

A search was launched to find and arrest the suspects.
On the other hand, bodies of the nine victims were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for an autopsy while the injured were treated at a nearby hospital.
