Residents staged a protest against water shortage in Korangi on Friday, complaining that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board had suspended the supply of water in their area despite the hot weather. They claimed that even though they had filed complaints several times, the water supply had not been restored. The protesters added that they paid their water bills regularly but had been forced to take to the streets because of the issue. The police dispersed the crowd, which was blocking a road, by assuring them that the water supply would be restored within 12 hours.
