Siddique Baloch academy to train aspiring journalists

Project to be completed within two months

Secretary Communications and Construction Noorul Amin Mengal has said that the construction work of Siddique Baloch Media Academy will be completed in the next two months and Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani will inaugurate the academy.

Mengal visited the construction site of the academy and was accompanied by President Quetta Press Club Razaur Rehman.

XEN and SDO of the project briefed Secretary C&W about the ongoing work.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the project was originally meant to be completed in June 2020, but due to Covid-19 it was delayed.

"The project will be completed within one or two months," Mengal said.

"Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan will inaugurate the new building of the academy."

Mengal instructed the officers that the chief minister wants to see improvement in the quality of material used in the building and will not compromise on the standards.

Meanwhile, Rehman said the establishment of the academy will be a great initiative for the journalist community in the province. The media academy will also train students of digital journalism, he added.
