Robbers steal over Rs23m from car showroom

Robbers broke into a car showroom on Jamshed Road on Monday night and stole over Rs23 million, mobile phones and laptops.

The showroom's owner, Malik Abdul Raheem Memon, in his statement to police, said that he received a call from his son around 9pm and was informed of the robbery. Quoting his son, Abdul Wakeel, he said four robbers, in a white Toyota Corolla, had reached the showroom and while three among them broke into it, one stayed in the car. The robbers stole Rs23.7 million kept in the showroom's locker and two laptops.

Besides, the robbers deprived Wakeel and others present in the showroom of Rs73,000. Moreover, they took away their mobile phones, as well as the CCTV footage and digital video recorder of cameras installed in the showroom.

Police have registered a case for the robbery.
