QUETTA:

A provincial government committee presented its preliminary report on Monday to Balochistan chief minister on the ongoing protest on Pak-Afghan border closure at Chaman. Chief Minister Jam Kamal had formed the committee to review the protest and prepare recommendations for its solution. The committee comprised provincial Home Minister Zia Langove, provincial Minister of Public Health and Engineering Noor Muhammad Dummar, Senator Manzoor Kakar, Lawmakers Asghar Achakzai and Mubeen Khilji. During the visit to Chaman border on Sunday the delegation held talks with traders, members of Chaman Chamber of Commerce and people working on the border while the committee also received demands of the members of sit-in. Langove assured the stakeholders to formulate a plan of action for the employment of people of Chaman. “The government will also prepare a plan to prevent terrorism as security agencies have reported reduction in the incidents of terrorism in Balochistan,” he said, adding the provincial government aimed to initiate safe trading activities on the border.
