The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and the Rawalpindi district administration on Thursday recovered encroached land worth an estimated Rs3 billion.
ACE Investigation Deputy Director Mudassir Farqaleet said that they had received a tip-off that a powerful group of land grabbers had encroached on a 10 Kanal plot in the Commercial Market area of Rawalpindi. The illegal occupants had built a fun park and other commercial establishments on the land and it was being used for business purposes.
He added that a preliminary probe revealed that all allegations were true. Subsequently, a detailed report was submitted to the Rawalpindi Chief Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood who okayed the operation.
