IHC to hear petition against PM’s aides on July 15

 Petition calls for declaring the appointments void ab initio

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the registrar office to fix the hearing of the case against premier’s 15 special aides for July 15.

Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard a petition filed by a citizen which pleaded the court for an early hearing of the case.

The court approved the request and ordered the registrar office to fix the hearing for July 15.

The petitioner had challenged the appointments of PM’s 15 aides including Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, SAPM on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar, SAPM on Youth Affairs Mohammad Usman Dar, SAPM on CDA Ali Nawaz Awan, SAPM on Parliamentary Coordination Nadeem Afzal Chan, SAPM on Health Dr Zafar Mirza, SAPM on National Security and Strategic Policy Planning Moeed Yusuf, SAPM on Petroleum Nadeem Babar, SAPM on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar and others.
 Yousuf Baig Mirza, Shamshad Akhtar and Iftikhar Durrani have resigned from their posts, while Naeemul Haq passed away.
 Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was also removed from the post of PM’s special aide.
 The federation has already submitted its reply on the petition filed against the appointment of special assistants.
 The petition had requested the court declare the appointments of PM’s special aides void ab initio.
