It runs in the family: Anoushey Ashraf and Natasha Qizilbash
Noted Vj-producer-host Anoushey Ashraf and her sister Natasha Qizilbash, known for her popular dining experiences, speak to us about their unconditional bond. From scuba diving together to having one another’s back, the siblings duo share it all.
What’s your first memory of each other?
Anoushey: Nat making videos and directing myself and Alizeh in the late 80’s/early 90’s when we’d get dressed up and dance to crazy songs.
Natasha: At the hospital, holding Anoushey in my arms at nearly 9 years of age. My first sibling came into this world after many prayers to God to have someone to play with.
What is the craziest thing you have done together?
Anoushey: It isn’t crazy so much but we may be two siblings who’ve travelled together a lot. Like a lot. And it’s been amazing!!
Natasha: Been on many vacations and adventures together. Maybe it isn’t crazy but we went scuba diving together and it was unforgettable.
What did you get punished for the most as a child?
Anoushey: I remember mum being very strict but I wasn’t ever punished.
Natasha: For arguing all the time with my elders. In those days the term was called ‘back chatting’
If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the other’s closet, what
would it be?
Anoushey: Forget her clothes; I want some of her make-up for the rest of my life.
Natasha: Anoushey has really nice dresses. All lengths and styles. Would wear them anytime!
If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?
Anoushey: I’d learn how to be a little selfish and indulge in self care.
Natasha: Learn how to cook!
What is the one thing you love about your sibling?
Anoushey: Her house is always open to me. Thank God! Natasha: Compassionate.
If you are fighting with each other, how do you
make up?
Anoushey: We fight for two minutes and forget about it in four minutes. Thank God because we forget in seconds.
Natasha: We forget in seconds. We never hold a grudge. We were taught well by our mom.
What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you did too?
Anoushey: It’s no secret, she’s the best cook and I can make scrambled eggs on my best day.
Natasha: It’s no secret; my sister doodles so well I wish I had a slight inkling but unfortunately nothing there.
Describe your sibling in three words:
Anoushay: Generous, frantic and entertaining.
Natasha: Kind, talkative and genuine.
Which fictional character is your sibling most like?
Anoushey: Monica from friends. (She was fictional)
How are your personalities similar?
Anoushey: We both think we are right.
Natasha: We both talk and talk and talk.
I can’t live without my brother/sister because…
Anoushey: My siblings are my lifeline. No matter what happens in this world, I know that they’ve always got my back.
Natasha: I can’t see the world without both my sisters. They are like my kids.
