Kite string slays youth, injures another

The victims were on way to Jaranwala on motorcycle

FAISALABAD:

A young man riding a motorcycle died after his throat was slit by a kite string and his companion was injured on Sunday.

The two victims were shifted to the Civil Hospital where 23-year-old Hamza Sarwar passed away due to excessive blood loss.

Reportedly, the accident occurred in front of the residence of District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef in the Peoples Colony area.

Hamza Sarwar, son of Mohammad Sarwar, a resident of 240GB area of Jaranwala, along with his friend, Azhar, son of Mohammad Rafiq, was on his way home on a motorcycle from Abdullahpur when the incident happened.

Hamza, who was driving the motorcycle, lost control over it when the kite string slit the throat. The two-wheeler crashed, injuring both friends who were taken to a nearby hospital.

People's Colony Police reached the spot on information and handed over the body to the heirs after postmortem.

On the statement of the injured, Azhar, a case was registered against unknown accused under Section 322 and a search for them is underway in the area.
