RAWALPINDI: The fact-finding committee probing into the death of nursing student has yet to finalise its report after exhausting the deadline.

However, according to sources, the investigation committee has so far held the housekeeping officer of the nursing hostel and Holy Family Hospital (HFH) chief medical officer (CMO) for the delay in medical assistance to the victim.

HFH management had set up a three-member inquiry committee to probe into the death of the third-year nursing student, Samia. The committee was tasked to find out the negligence of the hospital management.

According to her colleagues, Samia was seriously ill on Monday and wanted medical attention, however, the housekeeper did not allow her to leave hostel premises. Moreover, the doctors, too, did not give much attention to her complaints and told her to go back to her room, where her condition deteriorated and she died.
