During other operations on the day, conducted on the directives of the Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the KWSB took action against at least four illegal hydrants and confiscated three motors, as well as a pump.
Meanwhile, Shah and KWSB managing director Asadullah Khan took notice of the worsening condition of the sewerage system in the city and sought the records of the complaints received by the board's complaint centre during the last two months. They also sought the details of actions taken to redress the complaints.
Sources affiliated with the KWSB said that Khan had decided to take strict action against officials who responsible for the increasing number of complaints about sewerage overflow.
