25 UAF students to be sent for locust control operation

FAISALABAD: As many as 25 postgraduate students of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will be sent to different areas of the country to control locust and guide the farming community about combatting strategy as locusts was putting a dent on agriculture productivity.

This was stated by National Food Security Secretary Omar Hamid Khan while addressing an inaugural session of training workshop to combat locust for internes jointly arranged by the ministry and UAF at the Syndicate Room.

Omar Hamid Khan said that the ministry will send 10 UAF students to Balochistan and the rest of them to Tharparkar and Cholistan under the locust combat programme.
