LAHORE: Police claimed to have arrested a suspected motorcyclist involved in acts of sexual harassment of women and throwing chemicals on them.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Adnan.

Police said the suspect was a habitual pervert involved in sexual harassment of women. A few days back, he while passing through a street in Liaqatabad had thrown chemical on a woman. The next day he had groped an old lady from behind while passing through the street.

The victim told police said that the suspect had thrown chemical on a maid employed at their house. She had received serious blisters and was really scared when reached home. The next day, she was just passing through the street when he while passing nearby her misbehaved with her. She said that touching in an indecent manner was more than harassment.

She continued that the next day she again was in the street when she spotted the suspect. She informed his brother who went after him and she herself started waiting for him with a club in her hand.

Meanwhile, a Dolphin Squad team reached and asked her about her the trouble. She narrated the whole episode. They also went after the suspect but could not spot him. Afterwards, they searched him using CCTV cameras installed in the neighbourhood.

The suspect expressed embarrassment for his action and sought forgiveness. A case has been registered against him and further investigations into the matter were underway.

This is not the first case of this nature in the city as well in the country.

Last year in July, a man for indecent exposure and sexually harassing women was arrested from Lahore’s Raiwind.

The incident had occurred near Etihad Town when a group of women was travelling in a motorcycle rickshaw. The offender, identified as Arsalan Manzoor, was on a motorbike and he followed the rickshaw for a distance, hurling sexually offensive and derogatory comments at the women.
