750 factories issued notices over fire safety lapses
A three-week deadline for the installation of fire safety equipment had already elapsed

RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi district administration has issued red notices to some 750 factories and industries located in the garrison city.
The manufacturing units including those of plastic, cartons, acid, furniture and such have been directed to install fire safety equipment immediately.
They have been further instructed to switch off the power supply before closing. Further, the district administration has also directed the manufacturers to get all dilapidated wirings repaired to prevent short circuits.
CDD District Officer (DO) Talib Hussain has announced to launch a crackdown against the violators from June 22. A three-week deadline for the installation of fire safety equipment had already elapsed.
