ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted permission to Justice Qazi Faez Isa's wife to disclose her source of income through which she purchased three properties in the United Kingdom (UK) via video link this afternoon.

The bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, said the video will be arranged at Justice Isa's house.

"We know she is not a petitioner, but she is connected with this dispute," he said.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that Justice Isa’s wife was a dignified lady but doesn't know the norms of the court and therefore she should be careful.

A day earlier, Justice Isa appeared in the courtroom and conveyed his wife’s message that she is ready to explain to the court how she bought her foreign properties.

Justice Isa said he had a message to convey from his wife, who said she is willing to explain how she purchased three properties in the UK to the court through video link as she cannot come in the SC because her father is a cancer patient and therefore, at high risk for Covid-19.

The PTI led federal government moved the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against Justice Isa in May 2019 claiming that the judge had committed misconduct by not disclosing in his wealth statement his family members' properties in the UK.
