The Bollywood beauty took to Instagram to wish her dad on his 65th birthday

Deepika Padukone has a lot of love to give to her ace badminton player of a father, Prakash Padukone, on his birthday this year.

The Bollywood beauty took to Instagram this week to pen a heartfelt note for the sports star on his big day. Padukone started off by saying, “To the greatest off-screen hero I could have ever had!” She then went on to add, “Thank you for showing us that being a true champion is not only about one’s professional achievements but also about being a good human being!”

The actor’s heart-warming caption was accompanied by an adorable photo of her childhood self, nestled in her father’s lap, whose beaming smile right into the camera is testament to his love for his daughter. “Happy 65th birthday, Pappa! We love you!” she added at the end.

Back in March, Padukone and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, also took to Instagram to share a special tribute to her dad on the 40th anniversary of his All England Championship badminton win.

“Forty years ago, on this day, Prakash Padukone changed the fate of badminton forever. He won the All England Championship in London’s Wembley Arena, creating history for Indian sports in an unprecedented, landmark victory that shines everlastingly in the annals of time,” wrote Singh, sharing a picture of the sportsman from back in the day.
