The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has sent relief items for 200 families in Ghanche, Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) who had suffered as a result of recent landslides. The relief goods are sufficient for one month, said a statement.
The relief goods were dispatched during a ceremony on Wednesday, which was attended by PRCS Chairperson Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar, Secretary General Muhammad Ilyas Khan, Director Operations Ateeb Siddiqui and other at PRCS National Headquarters.
Giving details of the relief consignment, Khan said that the relief package for each family consisted of
20 kg of wheat, 15 kg of ghee, 20 kg of rice, 12 kg of dried lentils, five kg of sugar, one kg tea, one kg of salt, two tarpaulins, one hygiene kit and one tent per family. The total cost of the relief goods is Rs6 million, he added.
He said the G-B PRCS was also providing relief to the victims, and the national headquarters had assured full support for the provincial branch.
Bakhtiar said the Red Cresent stands with the landslide victims of Ganche, and would support them with all available resources by keeping the situation in consideration.
