Abducted minor killed after rape, say Punjab Police

7-year-old went missing two days back and his body was found in a canal

FAISALABAD: A seven-year-old boy, who was abducted two days ago from D-Type Colony area, has been killed after being raped, police said on Sunday. The body was found by local residents after it was thrown in a canal in Dijkot area.

As per details obtained by The Express Tribune, Samiullah, son of Arshad Abdul Majeed and resident of the Allama Iqbal Colony area, in the jurisdiction of D-Type Colony police station, went to a shop on June 5 and went missing.

The family of the missing child approached D-Type Colony police station. SHO Muhammad Tash registered a case against unidentified kidnappers under Section 363 and started an investigation to trace them.

Passers-by saw the body and informed Dijkot police, who took the body into their custody and later handed it over to D-Type Colony police.

When the body of the slain child reached home, it reportedly sparked anger in the area.

The relatives of the victim said the killers of the minor should be found immediately and brought to justice. A year ago, a girl who was going to buy something from a shop in the area of D-Type Colony police station was killed by a factory worker after rape.
