KARACHI: The two- member bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) – comprising Chief Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani and Justice Tufail H. Ibrahim – has issued a stay order over official holiday of CNG stations, while issuing notices to Sui gas, Ogra and federal government.

Twelve CNG station owners had challenged the government’s weekly holiday of CNG stations through a joint petition filed by advocate Khalid Javed. They said that Sindh had the largest gas reservoirs in the country and as per constitution the respective province had ownership rights on the mineral reservoirs from where these are extracted. The petitioners have taken the plea that weekly holiday for CNG stations have not only affected their earnings but has added to the woes of the common man.
