Honour killing suspects denied bail
District and Sessions Judge Aslam Gondal heard the bail plea of Arshad and Yaseen in an ‘honour-killing’ case
RAWALPINDI:
Two brothers, charged with allegedly killing their sister and her husband for ‘honour’ after they contracting the marriage of their free will, were arrested from the courtroom on Thursday after the judge denied their bail plea.
District and Sessions Judge Aslam Gondal heard the bail plea of Arshad and Yaseen in an ‘honour-killing’ case.
Prosecutor Imran Abbasi argued that the suspects had lured the couple to their home and then brutally murdered them. Therefore, he maintained that the suspects were ineligible for interim bail. The lawyer further pleaded with the court to dismiss the bails of both suspects so that they can proceed with their investigation.
After arguments, the judge directed police to arrest the suspects.
