Robberies: Millions in cash and valuables looted

The bandits made off with 125 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs500,000, Rs80,000 in cash, Saudi Riyals 7,500.

Armed robbers struck a house in the limits of Saddar Police Station on Monday night and made off with cash and valuables worth millions of rupees, police and family sources told.


According to complainant Mir Dad of Bhosa Chairh village, he works for a private company in Saudi Arabia and came on a visit home three days back. He was sleeping in the courtyard with his family when four armed men entered his house by scaling the boundary wall and held all the inmates at gunpoint. The bandits locked the family in a room and made off with 125 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs500,000, Rs80,000 in cash, Saudi Riyals 7,500 (Rs173,222), wall clocks and cell phones.

In a similar robbery, three masked men entered the house of local merchant Ilyas Mughal of Garhi Habibullah the same night and decamped with 125 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs500,000, Rs300,000 in cash and two mobile phones after tying the male inmates to charpoys and locking the women in a room.
