Documentary: Youth Idea Challenge churns out creativity

To engage youth in public policy making and to empower youth and community through voice, opportunities and education

Economic policy is a creative way of countering risk, said Dr Nadeemul Haque, Deputy Chairperson Planning Commission on Tuesday.


He was speaking at “Youth Idea Challenge”, where 19 documentaries made by the youth were screened, said a press release issued by Planning Commission of Pakistan.

Haque added, “Economic policy is broader than the usual fiscal policy. We have to learn from the global knowledge pool. The idea of Youth Idea Challenge was to include youth in our new economic strategy.”

The documentary competition was conducted to start the process of engaging youth in public policy making and to empower youth and community through voice, opportunities and education, the press release said.

The themes of the documentaries submitted were based on our cities, knowledge and productivity, social networking, youth entrepreneurship and market reforms.
