7 trends to try as soon as lockdown is over

It's time to get experimental with your style

May 19, 2020

As we scroll through Instagram with celebrities, stylists, bloggers, influencers and just about anyone with a good style sense of style posting #OOTD pictures and videos, we can’t help but day dream about trends and styles we want to rock once this lockdown is over. While some of these trends have been around for a while we can make an exception and flaunt them because if anything this pandemic has shown us, is that life is unpredictable. So wear that bold lip colour or try that experimental silhouette you’ve never imagined wearing. Life is all about taking chances and feeling good.

1. Frills:

Add drama to your style by making a statement in a frilly blouse or dress. If you’re not a fan of big frills there are plenty of other items available with frill detailing.

2. Padded headbands:

Even though our Instagram is flooded with everyone sporting padded headbands, and some saying this trend is done to death; we think it’s timeless, feminine and elegant. If plain Jane is not your style you can opt for printed or embellished headbands.

3. Add a belt:

While tucked in shirts seem like a basic style, if done right it can elevate your look instantly. Throw on a stylish blouse and add a statement belt. Better yet opt for basics and let your belt do the talking. You can add a chunky belt to your summer dresses to help give you some shape while looking trendy.

4. Flared pants with vents:

If you want to be on trend, shop for pants with vents. They are not only trendy but definitely make you look chic. This trend can suit almost anyone because of the countless options available to pair this with. Wear an over sized blazer or a loose blouse and you’re good to go.

5. Statement sleeves:

Invest in this trend! It’s one that keeps coming back every season. While statement sleeves have been in for a while, unfortunately due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus we feel people haven’t been able to flaunt this style as much as it deserves- that includes us. Rock that puffy-sleeved dress, a crop top or blouse. They are available in a variety of colours, material and cuts. Choose one that you feel you look best in and style it your way!

6. Oversized blazers:

Blazers are not only a hit for men but also women. We have seen women rock blazers in all colours and styles. Lately, oversized blazers have been trending on our time line. You can dress it up with a crop top and jeans or pair it with matching pants.

7. Square toe heels:

When we first saw this trend, we weren’t too sure if this would stay. But the more we see it the more we love it. It is safe to say we have our eyes on a few of these square toe heels that we wish to flaunt once the lockdown is over. It’s an easy way to look trendy and stylish.
