MULTAN:
Multan administration and the food department failed to achieve the wheat procurement target.

Administrative officers have continued to take action against flour mill owners to meet the target. They raided and seized thousands of maunds of wheat.

Mill owners accused the management of misuse of power and trespassed the mills via its walls. Flour Mills Association officials threatened to go on a strike if the situation does not change.

On the other hand, farmers of southern Punjab rejected the government’s policy of not storing more than 25 maunds of wheat at home. Sources revealed that Punjab government set a target of purchasing 211,000 metric tonnes of wheat from the district administration and food department.
