CTD foils terror bid in Khuzdar

The arrested accused was involved in sabotaging activities and planning attacks on security forces personnel

QUETTA: The Balochistan Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police foiled a terror bid and arrested an alleged suspected man with explosive materials including hand grenades in Khuzdar district on Thursday.

According to the CTD spokesperson, the police, acting on a tip off, conducted a successful raid and apprehended the suspect apart from recovering huge quantities of explosive devices from his possession. “The arrested accused was involved in sabotaging activities and planning attacks on security forces personnel in the province. Further investigation is underway,” added the CTD spokesperson.

On the other hand, Balochistan Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohsin Hassan Butt inaugurated the “Mohsin Butt Flower Garden” at the Balochistan Constabulary (BC) Qasim Line Sariab Complex on Thursday.

Commandant Balochistan Constabulary and Additional Inspector General Naeem Akram Bhroka briefed IG Butt on the occasion about the 5000 trees planted in the complex during the plantation campaign while 5000 more trees will be planted in the complex which can add to the beautification and greenery of the complex.

There are three zonal offices of Balochistan Constabulary in the complex which also consists of a firing range and training area. 10,000 trees were being planted which would maintain the whole mountainous area of the complex.

The Balochistan police chief appreciated the initiative of Commandant Balochistan Constabulary and termed it as an important step in the national tree planting campaign.
