CM says decision to ease lockdown will bring relief to citizens

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the decision to ease the lockdown in phases has been taken with broad consultations and unanimous decisions have also been taken to bring relief to the people.
The Punjab government has taken decisions with unanimity with the federal government and other provinces, he added. Buzdar said a decision has been taken to allow functioning of industries and shops linked with construction activities.
He further maintained that permission would also be granted to open more industries and businesses.

“Industries comprising of pipe mills, ceramics, sanitary ware, paints, electrical cables, switch boards, steel, aluminium and other shops will also be allowed to operate,” the chief minister said. “Hardware stores will also be opened and it has been decided to open small markets and small shops across the province.”
Buzdar maintained that small markets and shops would remain open from early in the morning till 5pm. He further underscored that small markets and shops getting opened would remain closed for two days a week. The CM stressed that enforcement of closure for two days would not be applied on the already open pharmacies, medical stores, milk shops, grocery stores, tandoors, bakeries and other shops providing essentials.

The CM urged the citizens to fully cooperate with the government on its decision to ease the lockdown. Usman Buzdar emphasised that the importance of safeguarding lives of the people of the province and solving problems of the people. The CM exhorted the people to implement all SOPs laid down by the government as it was their fundamental responsibility. “The more the citizens show responsible attitude, the more they will stay safe from coronavirus,” concluded Buzdar.
