Rivals lethally shot Asim for exchanging harsh words during a Kabaddi match

Opponents shot dead a young Kabbadi player to avenge an altercation that happened in Nishatabad area two days ago.

Nishatabad police took the body into their custody and launched an operation to arrest the suspects on Wednesday.

Police said Asim Ali Gohar, a resident of Chak No 6GB, had an argument with Ali and Hasnain while playing a Kabaddi match. The villagers present on the spot had resolved the fight.

To avenge this squabble, Ali, son of Ashfaq, along with his accomplices, shot at Asim while he was on his bicycle. The latter was shifted to the Allied Hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to injuries.


The Nishatabad Police took the body into custody and sent it for post mortem. The police have started a search operation to arrest the accused.

Station House Officer (SHO) Nishatabad Sufiyan Batter said that Asim’s cousin Faisal had to pay back money to the Hussain, the cousin of Ali, which had led to an argument during a Kabbadi match.

Asim had reportedly tried to resolve the fight which led to an exchange of harsh words. Later on, the accused lethally shot at Asim to avenge that dispute.
