KARACHI:
Nearly four hundred angry men set a wine shop on fire in Surjani on Saturday. The residents of Nasiri Colony did not approve of the presence of the shop in their area and its proximity to the mosque. DSP Nasir Lodhi said that the owner of the shop, Ramesh Lal, had been warned by the residents to move. “The wine shop was running with the help of some policemen. The angry residents broke the shutter and set the shop ablaze.” The shop was running legally and it would reopen on Sunday, he added.
