Two residents of Kech district die in armed attack in Iran

QUETTA: Four armed militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces during an operation in the Prom area of Panjgur district the other day.

Official sources said the security forces on an intelligence report about the presence of wanted militants conducted a search operation in Prom Kallag Kour Yar Muhammad Bazaar area during which armed men hiding in a house opened fire.

Heavy exchange of fire continued for at least two hours during which four armed militants, who were identified as Noor Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Abdul Malik and Momin were killed on the spot. According to sources, the militants belonged to banned outfits.

Meanwhile, according to another report, two residents of Kech district were killed the other day in an armed attack conducted in Iran.

Reports suggested that the firing incident took place in Peshin Gharibabad area of Iran where armed men riding a vehicle opened fire, killing two persons Murad and Fazal on the spot.

“Both the deceased were residents of Mand area of Kech district of Balochistan,” sources said, adding that they were also associated with a banned organisation. No further details were available in this regard.
