Farmers given massive relief, says Aleem
Senior minister asks the privileged class to come forward and donate generously to help those in need
LAHORE:
Punjab Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said on Sunday that Punjab will be self-sufficient in the sector and the wheat procurement target will be met ahead of time.
Speaking to a delegation at his residence, the provincial senior minister maintained that the government had given massive relief to the farmers with the change in the wheat procurement policy.
He said he had visited the wheat procurement centre in southern Punjab, where the situation was ‘extremely satisfactory’.
The food minister said all departments and the national economy were in trouble and in this hour of crisis everyone should unite and face the coronavirus pandemic together.
He went on to appreciate those serving on the frontlines who had sacrificed their lives for the country. “They are truly admirable.”

Provincial Minister for Literacy Raja Rashid Hafeez and Punjab Assembly members from Gujarat district Chaudhry Liaquat Ali Bhader, Saleem Sarwar Jora and Mian Akhtar Hayat called on the senior minister.
The MPAs pointed out various issues in their constituencies, on which they were assured of immediate action.
