ISLAMABAD:
With some allottees constructing houses in Park Enclave-I, the apex civic authority on Sunday said that it is pushing ahead with completing development works in the area with horticultural works and installation of security systems due to commence from Monday (today).

Moreover, four inquiries into violations of the federal capital’s master plan have been completed.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed on Sunday issued directions to focus on providing civic amenities for Park Enclave-I.

He added that with construction activity resuming in the area, development work in Park Enclave-I is expected to pick up.

The CDA chief said that security guards have been deployed while horticulture works shall commence from Monday. Further, work on installing security cameras in the enclave has also started, while the laying of cables in the area has also been approved.

Moreover, to facilitate residents of the enclave, Ahmed said that they have decided to set up a facilitation centre in the area on the pattern of the one established in Sector G-7.

The centre will house offices of the police, utility services, and CDA inquiry.

Sanitation services are expected to be mobilized from next week, he said.

Apart from work in Park Enclave-I, the CDA chief said that development of Park Enclave-II is also on the cards, including the construction of an interchange at the Rawal Dam Chowk to facilitate traffic from the urban sectors heading to the enclave.

In this regard, Ahed said instructions have been issued to design an access road for the enclave via an underpass.

Inquiries

The CDA on Sunday said that it has completed four different inquires related to the 11 complaints it had received about violations of the city’s master plan.

A CDA spokesperson said that a few months ago, the authority had launched 11 inquiries into master plan violations and related matters.

Of these, the first set of four inquiries have been completed by the respective committees. The official added that no action had been taken on certain reports and these matters had been unaddressed for several years.

"Inquiry officers have submitted their reports and further action will be taken in accordance with the recommendations of the inquiry officers and as per the law," he said. The completed inquiries were conducted into the issue of additional shops at the Siraj Covered market in Sector G-6/3.

The once-iconic covered market has now been demolished and was being disposed of. Similarly, an inquiry into plot 29 in Sector G-9 Markaz has also been completed.

An inquiry into investments made by the CDA in the stock exchange has also been finalised, with the inquiry committee’s findings and set of recommendations submitted to the appropriate authority for action.

Similarly, an inquiry into Park Lane Estate - relating to the transfer of state land to private parties - has also been finalised.

Further, inquires are expected to be completed in the coming weeks, officials said. WITH ADDITIONAL INPUT FROM WIRES
