Young man strangled to death

He was abducted by friend for a ransom of Rs2 million

FAISALABAD: A young employee of a textile mill in Jaranwala was strangulated after being abducted by a friend for a ransom of Rs2 million.

The body was thrown in a sewerage drain in a sack.

Police have arrested the suspected murderer and handed over the body to the victim’s family after er a post-mortem.

Faisal Zia, a 20-year-old son of a school teacher and resident of Chak 107GB in Juranwala worked at Habibia Textile Mills in Khurrianwala.

His friend Rizwan, a resident of Multan also worked with the victim and had rented a house near Ada Workshop. On April 16, Rizwan picked his friend Zia from his home to go work at the mill. When Zia did not return home, his father contacted Rizwan who said he would return soon.

Later, the accused Rizwan told the family that he had abducted Zia and would only release him after a ransom.
