HYDERABAD: Three infants were burned to death, while several other people were injured, when a fire erupted in shanties in Mir Hassan Mahar village near Daharki in Ghotki district.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as 18-months-old Kartik, 18-months-old Rabia and Nitesh, who was four months old. The injured, including two children and a women were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Goods and food supplies in the shanties were reduced to ashes.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and nine others injured in a clash between two groups in Daim Laghari village near Tando Ghulam Haider.

The armed groups reportedly attacked each other with axes and sticks, killing a man, Kamoun Laghari, on the spot.

The injured were taken to the hospital, where one of them, Ghulam Muhammad Laghari, succumbed to his wounds while receiving treatment.

Another injured man, identified as Jan Muhammad Laghari, told the police that the clash with members of the Khaskheli family was the result of a dispute over a piece of land owned by the Lagharis.

No case had been registered over the incident till the filing of this report.
