Fire erupts in bushes at University of Karachi
Chief fire officer stated that firefighters, with support of six fire tenders, managed to contain fire after two hours

A sudden fire broke out in the bushes within the University of Karachi campus, rapidly intensifying and producing visible smoke and flames that could be seen from a distance. Upon receiving the alert, the fire brigade and rescue teams promptly rushed to the scene.
According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the Fire and Rescue team arrived with ambulances and fire tenders and immediately began efforts to control the blaze. KMC and Fire Brigade confirmed that the fire had ignited in the bushes inside the university's boundary walls.
Chief Fire Officer Humayun Khan stated that firefighters, with the support of six fire tenders, managed to contain the fire after two hours of intense efforts, preventing it from spreading toward nearby populated areas. The team is currently engaged in cooling operations to fully extinguish the fire. The fire had spread quickly due to strong winds across a large area of open bushes. However, no casualties were reported. To support firefighting efforts amid water shortages, the Water Corporation provided water through tankers.
