Pakistan ranks 5th in Asia in mobile phone users as more than 100 million people are using mobile phones in the country, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) said on Wednesday.
Around 10 million new connections were issued domestically last year, a private TV news channel reported. According to statistics released by the PTA, the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan has reached 131 million. PTA said that the main reason behind the increasing number of mobile phone users is competitive tendency and lower calling charges. It said that the use of mobile phones has brought changes in the people’s living standards, which is also why its demand is increasing day by day.

This nation is happy and cool by these facilities.... No one cares whats happening round the globe...... here if a poor haven't money for meal but must have credit in mobile for night packages...
Bring Windows Phone 7 handsets and marketplace to Pakistan, period.
Also, don't start 3G. It's time for 4G, so just jump ahead of the rest.

China is 1st and India is 2nd.
Arbab I agree with what you are saying but I can't imagine how you can live without soap
@Lol: Hahahaha. Seems like Arbab statement hits you right in the heart, LoI.
i agree with Arbab's suggestion.
Why can't you list top 10 countries ? Selective journalism indeed.
@Lol...bhai..chill . @Syed Arbab Ahmed if you really think we need to pay taxes by telecom company..you should know that we are already paying 31% tax in telecom...which is way high....so better to think somethink big which can effect ppl who are enjoying in luxury cars-Stuff etc....
well if Pakistan is on the 5th number..............the government should try to connect with mobile companies like Nokia apple and blackberry............there are statistically so many phones but blackberry users cant use the blackberry app world as it is not available in Pakistan.............even in Bangladesh it is available.........which is a thing to consider seriously.............moreover u get to see many people with iPhones now well........government should bring apple stores here in pakistan so that people here dont have to get it from abroad..............this is pakistans growing industry they should try to bring the phone manufacturers here.......!!!
@Syed Arbab - What are the bad purposes the night package is used for?
@Arbab Just bcoz u dont have a GF to talk on phone late night, doesnt mean u can go around and suggest stupid ideas just for your self satisfaction...
Price is not the only reason but political instability also contributes in increase of mobile usage. Due to rapid increase in telecommunication technology everyday new scandals are being emerged on social platforms. Pakistanis will always misuse everything if they avail it.
