KARACHI:

HBL and Pel both registered a 1-0 win over their opponents to earn maximum points in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), a day which also saw PAF forfeit another match in the league.

Pel overcame Pakistan Navy at the Sadiq Shaheed Football Stadium in Quetta courtesy Ghulam Raza’s ninth-minute goal. While the result might suggest a dull match, it was a heated battle where five players were yellow-carded.

Pel’s Mohammad Ashraf, Syed Aqeel and Mohammad Shahid Ali and Naveed Ahmed and Shahid Munir of Pakistan Navy were among the players warned by the referee.

Meanwhile, PAF, who conceded their match against Baloch FC after refusing to play at the Sadiq Shaheed Stadium due to security concerns, continued their protest against the venue to allow easy points to Muslim FC Chaman.

In the other match, HBL edged past PMC to gain winning points at the Peoples Football Stadium in Karachi. Khayal Mohammad’s goal in the 19th minute proved to be the winning blow as PMC failed to equalise.
