Kurram operation continuing successfully: ISPR

Tribal lashkars lending support to security forces in Operation Koh-i-Sufaid, says DG ISPR.

ISLAMABAD: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Athar Abbas on Tuesday said the ongoing army operation against militants in Kurram agency was continuing successfully.

He said the army is trying to flush out the militants from the agency and tribal lashkars were lending their support to security forces.

Abbas said North Waziristan's link to other agencies has been cut off since the launch of an operation on July 2.

Over 4000 troops are engaged in securing the heights and plains of the central Kurram Agency.

Koh-i-Sufaid is the army’s first major military operation since the May 2 killing of Osama bin Laden.
