Extended wet spell likely to washout PSL match

RAWALPINDI/ ISLAMABAD: Rain spell continued for the third day in a row in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The heavy downpour disrupted daily life and traffic with many roads left inundated with rainwater.

The inclement weather forced PSL teams to cancel practice sessions, while the match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi was also likely to be cancelled if the rain continues on Saturday.

The water level in Nullah Leh rose by six feet at Katarian due to persistent rains. The intermittent showers going for the past three days have caused accumulation of water on Murree Road, GT Road, Peshawar Road, Mall Road, Rawal Road, Jamia Masjid Road, and Saidpur Road.

According to meteorological department, a new spell has entered the upper plains of the country, increasing chances of more rains and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
