NAB to probe advertising campaign of Ujala Homes

NAB would also investigate whether the marketing company retains legal documents of the housing scheme

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Court (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday took notice of advertising campaign of Ujala Homes run by Start Marketing Private Limited Company in various cities of the country and ordered Rawalpindi NAB director general to conduct investigation into the matter.

Currently, the campaign was ongoing in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Dera Ismail Khan and other cities.

The DG would probe the matter in accordance with the laws of private marketing company in which a company could not register people and collect their personal information without acquiring land for the project, approval of layout plan and obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

According to the directions of the NAB chairman, the DG would also find out the authority involved in permitting the marketing company to collect the information without fulfilling legal formalities.

NAB would also investigate whether the marketing company retains legal documents of the housing scheme or not in order to promptly save the public from losing their hard-earned money.

The bureau’s official said that selling fake plot files through attractive advertising campaigns was a violation of housing society laws.
