Police arrest 55 suspects for violating laws

LAHORE: The Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) of Lahore police arrested 55 suspected criminals during a crackdown over the past week.

The Dolphin Squad and PRU arrested 20 people for one wheeling on motorcycles, 20 for violating the ban on kite flying, three for firing into the air and another four for violating the Firearms Act. The police also arrested eight targeted offenders during the crackdown.

The police seized a car, 11 motorbikes, three mobile phones, 23 pistols, three rifles, a pump-action gun, six magazines, 150 bullets and more than Rs437,000 from the accused.

The Dolphins Squad and PRU also seized narcotics including 525 grammes of hashish and 12 bottles of liquor.
