Police arrest 20 POs, 15 absconders

Chakwal police have arrested 20 proclaimed offenders involved in various cases and nine members of two gangs of robbers during the past month.

“Police also recovered a car worth Rs2.8 million, three motorcycles, seven pistols, Rs50,000 and a cow during an ongoing crackdown against criminals,” District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Bin Ashraf said.

Sharing details of police performance during the month, he said 14 most wanted accused and 15 court absconders in various cases had been arrested. “As many as 34 accused have been arrested after registering 34 cases of possession of illegal weapons, including 23 pistols, seven 12-bore guns, four rifles and two Kalashnikovs.”


The police also seized 22.2kg of hashish, 48 bottles of liquor, 3.6kg of opium and 60 grammes of heroin.

A number of kites were seized in a special campaign, whereas 32 cases were registered over violation of the Tenancy Act.
