Youth devoured by lions: FIR lodged
Teen’s corpse lay bare in the enclosure for three days
LAHORE:
The family of a teen who was reportedly eaten up by lions in the Lahore Safari Park, have registered a first information report (FIR) before the police, accusing the administration of negligence.
Mohammad Shareef, the father of the deceased youth identified as Bilal, recorded his statement before the Raiwind Road police that his son went missing on February 24.
The complainant said he searched for the 18-year-old in nearby villages, enquired about him from relatives and even submitted an application in a police station.
In search of the missing teen, the family reached the wildlife park where they spotted his sickle, torn clothes and other personal items lying inside the lions’ enclosure on Wednesday.
Upon this gruesome discovery, the search party informed the park administration that they discovered the youth’s remains inside the enclosure.

The family accused the park’s Deputy Director Chaudhry Shafqat Ali of harassing them after they informed the police regarding the incident.
The deputy director had allegedly said that the youth had illegally crossed the barbed fence and he would lodge a complaint against the victim’s father. The family said he had also allegedly pressured them to submit a statement that the boy who had entered the premises was a psychiatric patient.
Shareef said the lions kept devouring his son’s body for three days and nobody noticed.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Leader Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar also visited the site of protest and accused the administration of negligence.
Khokhar raised the question if the park administration had not fed the lions. The administration contended that it could not be held accountable if someone jumped inside the enclosure at night.
