ISLAMABAD: The prices of pulses and ghee have further been lowered at all utility stores across the country.

A reduction of Rs5 to Rs30 has been made in the rates of dal chana, dal masoor and ghee.

The price of dal chana (gram) has been reduced from Rs167 to Rs160 per kilo, dal masoor from Rs135 to Rs130 per kilo and price of two ghee brands has been decreased from Rs200 to Rs170 per kilo.

The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) spokesman said that wheat, flour, pulses, rice and sugar were available in large quantities on subsidized rates at all utility stores across the country.

“Despite being subsidized, everything available at utility stores is of good quality,” he said.

“PM Imran wants to provide maximum and immediate relief to the people for which the Utility Stores Corporation is working on a scheme to issue ration cards to the poor, underprivileged and widows,” he added.

In addition, the federal government is also launching a Utility Rozgar Scheme for the unemployed youth. Under this scheme, 2,000 franchises will be opened in the first phase.
