Security Measures: Tight security for Istaklal-e-Pakistan Convention

ISLAMABAD:


More than 1,500 police officials will be deployed as part of the security plan for “Istaklal Pakistan Convention” to be held here on Sunday.


Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin and Senior Superintendent of Police Tahir Alam visited the site of the convention and routes of the rally on Saturday.

Rangers will assist Islamabad Police and Frontier Constabulary will perform duty on rooftops. Metal detectors as well as walk through gates would be used at entry and exit points.

Police officers on security duty will not be allowed to leave the specified place before the end of the convention. Streets leading to the route of the rally and the convention venue will be plugged so that no outsider can enter into the convention or the rally.

Bomb Disposal Squad will ensure technical sweeping at the routes and venue. Plain cloth police officials will keep watch on any suspicious persons or activities while monitoring cameras will be installed at the site.

Islamabad Traffic Police has also devised a traffic plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic at the time of the rally.
