The police department dismissed 35 police constables for possessing fake educational documents in Torghar District on Saturday. However, the police did not register a case against them.
More than 500 people in Torghar District had applied for the positions in the police department, where several vacancies for constables were announced by the government.
Out of these applicants, 132 were able to clear the physical tests and interviews on July 21.
The successful candidates were called to submit their educational documents. However, during the process, the police found out that the Secondary School Certificates of some of the applicants were not genuine.
A committee headed by DCO Muhammad Fareed probed the case with the assistance of Abbottabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and found out that 35 certificates were fake.
Following the investigations, Torghar District Police Officer Naseebullah Khan cancelled the appointment orders of the applicants.
“We have dismissed them under Rule 12.21 of the Pakistan Police Rules,” Khan said. However, he refused to comment on taking legal action against the offenders. According to the rule, a constable who is found unlikely to prove an efficient police officer may be discharged by the Superintendent at any time within three years of enrolment
